What is a wonder day and why should you start scheduling them?
A couple of years ago I was organizing a conference with the biggest name in North American HR world – David Ulrich.
This man (aside from his incredible thinking mind and possessed knowledge) amazed me with his humanity and ability to see people – no matter who they are and what the do.
When we had a conversation I asked him for professional growth advice, and he said to me, “Start scheduling wonder days” and explained:
A wonder day is a day when you don’t plan what you will do. It’s a day for you to go to places where you have not been yet and observe…
Observe how people talk, behave, do things. How they lead their businesses. How they create their lives.
Wonder days are the days when you give yourself time to think and see others.
Not to judge but to feel. Wonder.
I did.
I must say these have been some of the most mindful days of my life so far.
These days have given me perspective. I was able to get clear – in my thoughts, with my ideas – on my directions in life.
